South East Water Hosepipe Ban Affecting Kent & Sussex Was Removed on Friday 4th August 2023
Our exterior cleaning services are NOT affected by hosepipe ban commencing 16th June 2023
You will know that a hosepipe ban in Kent and Sussex has again been reintroduced. However, due to exemptions put in place by South East Water for companies providing commercial services we are able to continue to operate legally.
The Statutory Notice For Temporary Use Ban states that for :
- cleaning walls or windows
- paths or patios
- other outdoor artificial surfaces
There is an exemption “where this is done as a service to customers in the course of a business”.
SE Water’s website states : At this stage, we are granting concessions to businesses that use hosepipes as a core part of commercial operations

The FAQ page also states that businesses dependent on water for their primary business function are also exempt. Therefore Maidstone Gleam Team will continue to provide our range of professional cleaning services in Kent, Sussex and the south east region for all outdoor areas and exterior hard surfaces.
